A December 20th, 1975 letter from Joan to photographer John Engstead. In the letter, Joan inquires to Engstead as to when he will be coming to New York. In a June 29th, 1977 unpublished interview, Engstead recalled that Joan wrote to him saying (Engstead's terminology) "when you're in New York, let me know." Engstead said this inquiry was regarding Joan's desire to have a photo shoot sitting with him. This would be the letter Engstead refers to in the above-mentioned interview.
